Foothill Animal Hospital is Proud to present “Cat Jack” as our May pet of the month. “Jack” is an 11 year old Snowshoe Siamese, and he has been a wonderful patient of ours since 2006. “Cat Jack” has been through some pretty rough times in the past few months, and has remained his sweet, old self in spite of all of it.
At his last Senior Wellness Exam, Dr. Reagan recommended a routine blood panel to make sure that “Jack” was functioning on a normal level as an older kitty. His Mom, Lynn, had noticed some changes in his weight and activity level and wanted to make sure he was ok. Unfortunately his lab results showed that he had Diabetes, and Dr. Reagan prescribed that “Jack” be started on daily insulin injections immediately.
A couple months later, “Cat Jack’s” mom, was diagnosed with a very serious form of cancer. She passed away peacefully a couple weeks thereafter. “Jack” became lost in the family’s shuffle in the weeks following Lynn's passing, but thankfully a family friend stepped up and took him in despite his disease.
Since the tragedy of Lynn’s passing, “Jack” has totally acclimated to his new family and surroundings. His new family loves him very much and is taking great care of him!
